Marina began her scientific career in clinical microbiology, working on research, diagnostics, teaching, and clinical studies. Motivated by the impact of early infection detection, she pursued a PhD in infection biology at Friedrich-Schiller University Jena and the Leibniz Institute – HKI, using transcriptomics to study host–pathogen interactions and epithelial immunity. Building on these findings, her postdoctoral work explored the potential of mucosal immunotherapy. After research experience in both clinical and academic settings, Marina moved into industry as a scientist at CureVac, developing potency assays for novel mRNA therapeutics. At Scitaris, she now supports clients in making innovative strategic decisions by combining scientific expertise with curiosity, analytical thinking, and cross-sector experience.
