Mascha has always been deeply fascinated by the brain and the role of inflammation in disease. This curiosity led her to pursue an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at UCL, where she focused on inflammation in neurodegenerative disorders. She later transitioned into the field of vascular inflammation for her PhD at Imperial College London, investigating a potential novel pro-inflammatory mediator and its therapeutic potential in atherosclerosis. This transition across disciplines highlights Mascha’s adaptability and ability to quickly master new areas of research. Over the course of more than five years of hands-on laboratory experience, she developed expertise in a wide range of molecular techniques and animal models.
Alongside her research, Mascha has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at Imperial College London, helping them strengthen their problem-solving, hypothesis-driven thinking, and scientific communication skills. Her dedication to education was recognized with the award of the Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. At Scitaris, Mascha combines her scientific expertise with her passion for clear and impactful communication to deliver insightful and actionable solutions for clients.
